Lace Heart Wedding Sampler is What I’m Stitching

So, I decided to put away Pirate Treasure for awhile and work on this wedding sampler that was supposed to be a gift last year, but I didn’t finish in time. This month is their one year anniversary and even though I’m already late I’d like to finish it up soon and give it to them.

This is from the Jeanette Crews Designs Leaflet Wedding Memories Leaflet, and the design is called Lace Heart. As you can see on the leaflet cover there I am not stitching this as charted, white is just so boring to stitch!

So, I grabbed the save the date card that came in the mail along with my fabric stash and I found the closest possible match to the color of purple that the bride used for the cards and invites and also for her bridesmaid dresses and wedding colors.

The closest match I came out with was Abracadabra from Silkweaver and it’s an opalescent fabric, so there’s pretty sparkles in there! I know they’re hard to see in the photos, but they really do look great in person! I’m using DMC 210 and 209 since they went great on the fabric and gave it that lacy monochromatic look, and I’m already on my second skein of 210 (although I think my first skein was really only half a skein on a bobbin from my stash)

Happy Stitching!

  1. Verrrry pretty!

    • Thanks! I usually don’t stitch these kind of gifty projects for folks, but this guy really helped us out so I wanted to make something special for him and his wife.

  2. Beautiful pattern and it will mean so much to them. A dear friend gave us a cross stitch wedding gift and it’s still hanging in our bedroom, nearly 18 years later!

    • I hardly ever make these for anyone, ever, because it’s hard to know what will happen to it. The only other wedding sampler I did was the one I did for my husband and me for our anniversary 😮 I’m a selfish stitcher! LOL

      • Hi, I agree with you, one put so much effort and love in this work and then the gift is not appreciated. I am also very selfish regarding my own hand work. 🙂
