Almost Done with Lace Heart Wedding Sampler

I can’t believe I’m almost done with this Lace Heart Wedding Sampler for our friend! I’ve barely had time to stitch except for a few times during stormy nights and it’s just coming along so quickly. (My new counting pins helped a lot with this recent faster progress!)

The original chart has two doves backstitched in Kreinik one on each side of the heart, but I’m not stitching those, because honestly I don’t like the way they look, they seem awkward and more cartoony than elegant like the lace portion of the design. SO, I figured it better to just leave those off. Then I’ll stitch the names and date in the center and add the beads around the heart and I’ll be done – then there’s just framing to be done.

I haven’t decided what type of frame yet, it’s always so hard to choose a frame for something that is going to hang in the home of someone else. I was thinking a white frame would be appropriate, but maybe too bright. I’m open to framing suggestions here, please!

Thanks for following along with what I’m stitching this week! I’d love to hear from you about what you’re stitching as well.

Happy Stitching!

This is beautiful! I’m going to check out the chart. I’ve got a son getting married in July and I’m looking for a new wedding sampler pattern!

    • It’s a really great leaflet with some creative ideas in it. There is another design in it that I would really like to stitch as well, but I don’t know anyone else having a wedding soon. :-p

  2. I think white would look nice, or silver… since its for a wedding I would go with a silver frame (or gold) I think that would continue the elegance.

Wow! You’ve gotten a LOT done!!

  4. feeling like a real stitcher again – stitching a little bit every day again! I even picked out the fabric for my next start, it’s a little big so I might grid but I’m not sure.
