Finally, Some Stitching Time!

I cannot tell you how badly I really needed to just have some nice quiet stitching time. I finally had some this week. Not a lot of progress, but managed to get a little bit done on My Token of Love. This was taken with my phone last night, so it’s not the best picture… I’ll grab a better picture next time!

Finally some stitching time... like a much needed therapy session :-P

I know I say this all the time, but stitching really is therapy. I feel so much better right now. I need to stop over-scheduling myself and save some time every week for just stitching.

What are you stitching on this week?

  1. love how the colors are coming out

  2. I need to get a better picture this weekend, I’m really impressed with these DMC variegated theads right now. I was worried I wouldn’t like them because I’m so used to working with overdyed and hand-dyed threads.

This piece looks great and you are correct. Stitching is great therapy. I did a lot of it last year while I was home bound after surgery. Now that I’m back to work and a normal life, stitching time is very hard to come by.

I’m currently working on the Susan Winget Christmas train ornament from Dimensions.

If only we were paid to stitch all day :-p
The Susan Winget ornaments from Dimensions are really nice, love the train 🙂 I look forward to seeing your finish!

  4. Like you, I use oevrdyed threads a lot. I’ve seen the variegated DMC in the store. I might consider using them for my future designs.

  5. I was surprised, I thought for sure I’d be frogging things out and ordering new threads after the first handful of stitches. These newer DMC variegated threads are much more like overdyed than like the old school variegateds that we used to make friendship bracelets with :-p (you know the ones with the weird limey-yellow in the middle for no reason LOL)

You asked what I am stitching on this week? I am making a small wedding sampler for a newly married couple. She is Vietnamese so I asked my nail person to write something for me to put on it. She wrote it in Vietnamese and it says, “Forever Love” then she told me that lucky wedding colors are pink and red. I am done with the center heart, and am now doing the Vietnamese words. Fun!
