Dragon Dreams Fairy Tale Sampler Cross Stitch Chart and Stash Giveaway

This giveaway has ended and comments are closed! ~~ Congratulations to Iris for winning the chart and stash!

I promised that the giveaways would return in January, and here I am to make good on that promise!

Last year when I finished Fairy Tale Sampler by Dragon Dreams I had quite a bit of stash leftover and I wanted to pull some things together to pass this amazing chart on to one of our readers, so here it is in our first giveaway of the new year.

What the winner will receive:

  • Dragon Dreams Fairy Tale Sampler Chart
  • Waterlilies threads in Mulberry
  • Waterlilies threads in Sky Blue Pink
  • Mill Hill Antique Glass Seed Beads 03019 (mauve)
  • Mill Hill Medium Bugle Beads 80168 (blue)

Please note that the Waterlilies and beads were opened and used by me when stitching the project, but there is more than enough here to stitch it all again. The chart is also in very good condition, as I used a working copy to do my stitching from.

You’ll still need your own fabric selection, DMC threads, Kreinik threads, and of course the glass frog Mill Hill Treasure to complete the project, but this gives you a nice little head start and takes quite a few dollars off the supply purchase total.

About Loretta Oliver

I’ve been a cross stitcher since I was 8 years old. It was something I learned as a Girl Scout when we did a project for a badge related to crafts and the group choose to cross stitch a holiday design on a red sweatshirt using waste canvas. (Talk about hard first project, that was such a pain!) I was one of the first ones finished and I’ve had a needle in my hand almost every day since then.

Comments

  1. My biggest stitching goal for 2011 is to start and complete to stockings for my grandkids (Zoe and AJ). For the past two years, I’ve planned to have these ready to present to them at Christmas but between working two jobs, going to school and life in general, I have not reached my goal. Maybe by committing this to print, I can use that as incentive to get going.

    • Stockings are always a fun stitch project and a great gift! I know how life tends to get in the way of the stitching, I’ve hardly finished anything myself in the past few years.

Don’t have a blog but have signed up which is how I got this . . . anyway, my stitching challenge for this year is to work on 1 of 9 WIPs a week at a time. Figured this way I won’t get tired of any of them and will actually get a couple of them completed. LOL I know I will probably start other big projects this week but will keep to the 1 project for 1 week idea. Will also have my ATCs to work on and start back on Christmas ornaments probably in May.

  3. Sheri Fitzgerald says:

My goal for this year is to get back into stitching as a theraputic tool to help manage the symptoms of my disabiling fibromyalgia. I have always loved stitching and have gotten away from it in the last five or six years as my symptoms progressed and my decreased concentration levels left me unable to focus on a project. 2011 is the year that’s going to change!!!

My goal is to start with fairly simple projects or ones that have sections like this one does so that I can create successes by completing one section and building on that by moving on to the next section. This year is my year to begin starting (and finishing) works of art again!!

    • I love cross stitch as therapy! It’s stress therapy for me, I will firmly stand by the idea that stitching relieves stress.

  4. My biggest goal this year is to wrap up some Christmas projects that I always work on for a few days around Thanksgiving and then put away to finish for the next Christmas. These would be a stocking, a tree skirt, and the charms for an advent calendar.

  5. My biggest goal this year is to complete the Mirabilla “Mermaids of the Deep Blue”. I started two large Mirabilla projects about 4 years ago & just fninished one of them last year. This one was started but has been put on the back burner because of it’s size and intensity but if I can just get back on it, I know I can finish it up this year!

  6. I have two stitching goals this year that I think are pretty big. The first is to stitch at least one Christmas ornament per month, and the second is to make at least one handmade gift per month. I’m keeping busy!

    • I did the ornament a month thing one year and it was awesome, I was thinking about doing it again this year because in December I realized I need more stitchy ornaments on my tree!

  7. My goal for the New Year is to do more projects. I have one that will be finished by the end of JANUARY OR THE BEGINNING OF fEBRUARY.

    • I’m with you on this one, I need more stitching time – in my world more stitching time = less stress!

  8. My goal is to stitch at least six soldier memorials.

Since I stitch a LOT, hopefully that will be a reachable goal.

I really need to get started on some very nice kits that I purchased several years ago but have not worked on.
