Contributors

The truth is that Stitching the Night Away wouldn’t exist without the amazing community of stitchers and crafters surrounding it. You are all awesome! We welcome guest contributors throughout the year and we have a wonderful group of writers adding new content frequently.

Meet some of our regular contributors….

Loretta Oliver – Head Stitcher and Website Owner here at STNA

I’ve been a cross stitcher since I was 8 years old. It was something I learned as a Girl Scout when we did a project for a badge related to crafts and the group choose to cross stitch a holiday design on a red sweatshirt using waste canvas. (Talk about hard first project, that was such a pain!) I was one of the first ones finished and I’ve had a needle in my hand almost every day since then.

Joy Arceneaux

Rabid stitcher and mother of two toddlers. Stitching is like going to war….with string!
I started playing with string when I was 16 and my mom bought me a Learn-A-Craft kit of a frog (because I love frogs). I discovered that cross stitching is a wonderful hobby when you go to college in the middle of nowhere Minnesota. Now that I’m married with two toddlers, I stitch when I get a chance.

Karen Ezell

I’ve been cross stitching for over 25 years and last year I put two of my hobbies – Camping and Cross Stitch – together and now design and sell camping themed cross stitch patterns and kits. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve met new cross stitch friends who camp too! My site is Camp Cross Stitch and I also have a camping website that is a work in progress- www.TheCampSite.com If you are a camper come over and say Hi!

Rachel Sutherland

I have been studying and working with various forms of needlework for the past ten or more years. I look to the stitching community for insights and expansion on my lifelong studies. My favorites are blackwork designs or projects with minimal needle changes that focus on the pattern, not necessarily the color. My completed portfolio is available publicly on Flickr. You can also find me on Twitter, Pinterest, Etsy, stitchbyrachel.com and of course on Facebook

Shaunterria Owens

How to know you have the right Shaunterria? Are they a bibliophile, gamer, wife, mother of two, cross-stitching introverted movie-music-sci fi lover? If yes, you have found the right one. Although there’s only three or four of us to start with. So there’s that.

Kelly Bilyeu a.k.a. stitchnmomma

I’ve been stitching for 35 years now after first learning to needlepoint at the age of 6. A day is not complete unless my needle, floss and fabric meet. My quest to learn more & grow in my craft never ends. I’m hoping that some day my cross stitch “empire” can be my full-time job and retirement. Hey, we all have to have dreams! 🙂
