Santa! Day 10 of Christmas Cross Stitch

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Every day from now to Christmas we’ll take a look at two holiday stitching projects per day.

Santa has delivered all the presents and now he is adding some treats to the Christmas tree. Won’t the children be surprised!

This festive scene is stitched with cotton thread on 16 count dove gray Aida.

This is a complete cross stitch kit and it includes: fabric, thread, wool yarn, sequins, color-coded thread sorter, felt for the stocking back, and an alphabet for personalizing.

Finished project size is approximately 16″ long.

Of course we need some Santa ornaments to go with our new stocking! These Belsnickel Santa Ornaments from Primitive Needleworks fit the bi quite nicely and look like a great stitch for yourself or for holiday gifts and exchanges too.

Model stitched on Osnaburg fabric using DMC threads. Stitch count for Santa with Sleigh: 33W x 43H, Santa with Sheep: 35W x 42H, and Santa with Lantern: 33W x 45H.

Happy Stitchmas!

Sleigh Bells Ring, Day 9 of Christmas Cross Stitch

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Every day from now to Christmas we’ll take a look at two holiday stitching projects per day.

Our first tree skirt of Stitchmas of 2010 is Sleigh Ride Tree Skirt from Dimensions. This is kit, so everything is included.

And to go along with it, this Jingle ornament kit from Mill Hill ~ which I bought along with the Frosty ornament kit also… my stash is growing far too much during this Stitchmas event! It should arrive this week, along with my Mill Hill treasure for the top of my Peace tree. Jingle and Frosty are stitched on plastic and cut out, lots of sparkle in there from the Mill Hill beads and charms.

That’s all for the ninth day of Stitchmas! I hope you’re enjoying the selections. If you have any suggestions or requests for help finding something just let me know.

Happy Stitchmas!

Favorite Things! Day 8 of Christmas Cross Stitch

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Every day from now to Christmas we’ll take a look at two holiday stitching projects per day.

This cute stocking from Bent Creek called My Favorite Things really caught my eye today. Who could resist the fun holiday things included here, snowflakes, holly, a Christmas tree, Santa, a snowman and a candy cane bring out the holiday joy.

The model was stitched over 2 threads on 18 Ct. Natural linen with Weeks Dye Works (Whitewash, Onyx-2, Lancaster Red-3, Rum Raisin, Sand, Chestnut, Seaweed, Schneckley, Juniper) and Gentle Art Sampler Threads (Shaker White, Nutmeg). Stitch Count: 97W x 146H. Buttons from Just Another Button Company sold separately.

But, I confess it was really the holiday candy that was on my mind! Check out these adorable Ribbon Candy Ornaments from Calico Crossroads!

Model stitched on 14ct. white perforated paper using kreinik floss and DMC floss. finished size (not including hanger): 1.5″ high x 1″ wide. They’d make great gifts and I can imagine they’re a ton of fun to stitch (and better for you than the actual candies! LOL)

Kitties! Day 7 of Stitchmas

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Day 7 already, and far too many things are finding their way into my stash over here!

Today we’re looking at kitties! Meow ~ I love the Britty Kitty Stocking from Brittercup Designs, it’s been a favorite of mine for awhile now.

The model was stitched on 28 Ct. Queen Anne’s Lace Jobelan with Weeks Dye Works (Amber, Chestnut, Onyx, Union Blue, Seaweed-2, Scuppernong -2, Marigold, Hazelnut, Turkish Red, Hibiscus, Azaleas, Indian Summer). Finished Project Stitch Count is 132W x 193H.

Buttons from Just Another Button Company sold separately.

To stick with our meowy kitty theme the ornament today is Christmas Kitty Moon by Stitchy Kitty, which actually includes two ornament patterns. One is a moon shaped kitty with ornaments hanging from his hat (Stitch Count: 51W x 50H) and a Christmas paw print (Stitch Count: 34W x 32H).

You could stitch them as separate ornaments or use the paw print as the backside of the kitty moon ornament, it’s sure to be cute either way.

Word Trees! Day 6 of Christmas Cross Stitch

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. I know I said that every day would include at least one ornament paired with a stocking or a tree skirt pattern, but today the M-Designs word trees are screaming at me so loudly that I decided to show off a few of those.

I’m actually stitching Peace Tree right now and I’m about half way done. These word trees can be stitched over one for an ornament size or over two for framing or you could turn them into stockings with a bit of sewing magic if you wanted.

Now, there are MANY of these and I certainly couldn’t stitch them all, plus M Designs allows you to special order custom name trees if you want to do your last name or everyone in your family’s first names even, so the possibilities with these projects is truly endless. Here are just a few of my favorites. Believe, Love, and Rejoice.

Hot chocolate! Day 5 of Stitchmas!

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Every day from now to Christmas we’ll take a look at two holiday stitching projects per day. At least one of those will be an ornament and the second will be either a stocking cross stitch pattern or a tree skirt cross stitch kit.

Tonight I stocked up on hot chocolate at the grocery store and that led me to find this cute Cocoa Stocking by Samsarah Designs Studio.

It just makes you want to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a quiet moment.

Model stitched over 2 threads on 20 count Cappuccino linen by Weeks Dye Works with Caron Watercolours (Black Forest, Geranium, Guacamole, Natural).

Finished project stitch count is 102W x 141H.

The ornament I picked today is actually a leaflet of a few ornaments called All the Trimmings by Plum Pudding Needleart. I really liked the old world look and feel of these ornaments and they sort of brought back some childhood memories.

Add together childhood memories and hot chocolate and it’s a great day of Stitchmas!

Happy Stitching!
Kind Regards,
Loretta

Yule Fairy! Day 4 of Christmas Cross Stitch

This Yule Fairy from Heaven and Earth Designs is one of my favorite stockings that I’ve ever seen, but I’m just not brave enough to start stitching another HAED right now or start another “over one” stitched project in addition to the ornament I’m stitching at the moment … maybe next year!

The model is stitched over one thread on 25 count fabric using DMC flosses. Finished project stitch count is 227W x 345H.

(I know that sounds big, but remember it’s stitched over one on evenweave instead of over two. If you stitched this over two it would be a really, really big stocking!)

The ornament today is super fun because it holds a photo. This Christmas Photo Ornament from The Sunflower Seed reminds me of the traditional ornaments we used to make as kids and then you’d slide a school photograph in for your mom or your grandma. I love the traditional look and feel for holiday decorating with the poinsettias and the red/green/gold color schemes.

Enjoy your weekend and Happy Stitching!
Kind Regards,
Loretta

Let it Snow! Day 3 of Christmas Cross Stitch!

Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. Every day from now to Christmas we’ll take a look at two holiday stitching projects per day. At least one of those will be an ornament and the second will be either a stocking cross stitch pattern or a tree skirt cross stitch kit.

christmas cross stitch count down

I can’t believe it’s Friday already and I’m still is shock that it’s December. Where did 2010 run off to? So much to do and less than a month in which to do it all. Whew! I’m tired just thinking about it. So, I confess that on today’s Stitchmas post I’m going to cheat a little tiny bit. I’ve still got an ornament and a stocking to share with you, but it’s all in the same leaflet!

Let it Snow by Rosewood Manor includes the stocking pattern, personalization alphabet, and TWO BONUS patterns. I love the detail on the snowflakes and how they’re all different (the way a snowflake should be!)

The models are stitched on 28 count white Zweigart Lugana (I love Lugana fabric, so soft and smooth) with a finished stocking size of approximately 12″ x 18.5″.

If you click here to purchase the chart you can also one click add the supplies and be ready to stitch in no time at all!

Artist Statement:
“ Christmas stockings are always a part of our family’s holiday traditions. We hang them on the fireplace each year for Santa to fill no matter our ages! We love our traditions and hope you and your family will create some of your own with this stocking! ”
