Welcome back to 25 Days of Stitchmas here at Stitching the Night Away where we’re counting down the days to Christmas with awesome cross stitch projects. I know I said that every day would include at least one ornament paired with a stocking or a tree skirt pattern, but today the M-Designs word trees are screaming at me so loudly that I decided to show off a few of those.

I’m actually stitching Peace Tree right now and I’m about half way done. These word trees can be stitched over one for an ornament size or over two for framing or you could turn them into stockings with a bit of sewing magic if you wanted.

Now, there are MANY of these and I certainly couldn’t stitch them all, plus M Designs allows you to special order custom name trees if you want to do your last name or everyone in your family’s first names even, so the possibilities with these projects is truly endless. Here are just a few of my favorites. Believe, Love, and Rejoice.

Tonight I stocked up on hot chocolate at the grocery store and that led me to find this cute Cocoa Stocking by Samsarah Designs Studio.

It just makes you want to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a quiet moment.

Model stitched over 2 threads on 20 count Cappuccino linen by Weeks Dye Works with Caron Watercolours (Black Forest, Geranium, Guacamole, Natural).

Finished project stitch count is 102W x 141H.

The ornament I picked today is actually a leaflet of a few ornaments called All the Trimmings by Plum Pudding Needleart. I really liked the old world look and feel of these ornaments and they sort of brought back some childhood memories.

Add together childhood memories and hot chocolate and it’s a great day of Stitchmas!

This Yule Fairy from Heaven and Earth Designs is one of my favorite stockings that I’ve ever seen, but I’m just not brave enough to start stitching another HAED right now or start another “over one” stitched project in addition to the ornament I’m stitching at the moment … maybe next year!

The model is stitched over one thread on 25 count fabric using DMC flosses. Finished project stitch count is 227W x 345H.

(I know that sounds big, but remember it’s stitched over one on evenweave instead of over two. If you stitched this over two it would be a really, really big stocking!)

The ornament today is super fun because it holds a photo. This Christmas Photo Ornament from The Sunflower Seed reminds me of the traditional ornaments we used to make as kids and then you’d slide a school photograph in for your mom or your grandma. I love the traditional look and feel for holiday decorating with the poinsettias and the red/green/gold color schemes.

I can’t believe it’s Friday already and I’m still is shock that it’s December. Where did 2010 run off to? So much to do and less than a month in which to do it all. Whew! I’m tired just thinking about it. So, I confess that on today’s Stitchmas post I’m going to cheat a little tiny bit. I’ve still got an ornament and a stocking to share with you, but it’s all in the same leaflet!

Let it Snow by Rosewood Manor includes the stocking pattern, personalization alphabet, and TWO BONUS patterns. I love the detail on the snowflakes and how they’re all different (the way a snowflake should be!)

The models are stitched on 28 count white Zweigart Lugana (I love Lugana fabric, so soft and smooth) with a finished stocking size of approximately 12″ x 18.5″.

Today’s theme is none other than the Sugarplum Fairy!

This Sugarplums Dancing Stocking design from Alma Lynne Designs is totally cute and a fun modern stocking for the little girl in your life.

I also think it would be fitting for a tween or teen girl as well, and I confess I know quite a few of us grown up girls that would love it just as much.

Model in the picture is stitched on 14 count Antique White Aida using DMC flosses.
Finished Project Stitch count: 132W x 186H.

As if that wasn’t cute enough, then I found this beautiful Spirit Of The Sugar Plum Fairy Ornament from Brooke’s Books Publishing and it just took my breath away. I quickly tossed it in my web shopping cart because it just screamed “stitch me, stitch me!”

Ornament stitched on 14ct. Brown and Metallic Perforated Paper with DMC Flosses. The finished project size is 5 X 7, so it’s sort of big as far as ornaments go, so I won’t be stitching her for my tree this year since I only have a little 4 foot tree up in the living room. (-lol- she would take up a whole section of my tree)
