Cross Stitch
Seeing all the butterflies stitched by readers has been amazing and whoa did I ever learn a few things during the April giveaway. Since most of the submissions came in by email it got a little chaotic there for awhile, so I entered all the entries into an Excel spreadsheet then headed over to Randomizer.org to draw a number to choose the stash prize winner!

Brushstroke Butterfly is probably the most popular free cross stitch design here at Stitching the Night Away and I love getting emails and seeing blog posts with pictures of everyone’s finished projects. I’ve been trying to gather them up for the Gallery of Finished Cross Stitch projects here on the site, but there are quite a lot of them spread across the web so I am here to ask for a little help on this – and of course reward you for stitching and sharing the design as well!
So, here’s the deal. I want to see your finished Brushstroke Butterfly and I’ll compile the images into the Gallery here on STNA and add them to Flickr as well. For every finished image you send me you’ll be entered into a giveaway for this lovely stash grab bag, just put together today right out of my own personal stash cabinet!

Leave a comment with a link to your finished project picture on the web and I’ll go check it out! If you haven’t uploaded your image to the web that’s okay, you can send your picture as an email attachment to loretta@stitchingthenightaway.com and still be entered in the giveaway.
Only projects of completed Brushstroke Butterfly patterns count for this giveaway! (But, don’t fret, there’s still time to stitch it if you haven’t yet AND we’ll be doing this with other patterns in the future!)
Yes, if you’ve stitched this design multiple times it counts as multiple entries! Yes, group projects such as Love Quilts entries count also, in fact Love Quilt submissions will count as double!

I noticed this week that DMC is holding a Design and Easter Egg Cross Stitch contest on thier blog. So, of course I had to come up with something, right?
I put together a few rough drafts and posted them on the Facebook community page for feedback – and the feedback was good. Next step was to tweak the colors and pull some fabrics out of the stash cabinet and start nailing down decisions.
I finally chose two floss colors and pulled five different fabrics out of the cabinet, but I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, which lead to doing floss toss and snapping pictures to post here and on Facebook again….

I promised that the giveaways would return in January, and here I am to make good on that promise!
Last year when I finished Fairy Tale Sampler by Dragon Dreams I had quite a bit of stash leftover and I wanted to pull some things together to pass this amazing chart on to one of our readers, so here it is in our first giveaway of the new year.
What the winner will receive:
Please note that the Waterlilies and beads were opened and used by me when stitching the project, but there is more than enough here to stitch it all again. The chart is also in very good condition, as I used a working copy to do my stitching from.
You’ll still need your own fabric selection, DMC threads, Kreinik threads, and of course the glass frog Mill Hill Treasure to complete the project, but this gives you a nice little head start and takes quite a few dollars off the supply purchase total.
