Love My Dog is Chart of the Week

This is Love My Dog by Lizzie Kate, and not only is it chart of the week, but it’s currently on sale too. This chart is personalized using the alphabet provided. If you have more than one pet, like I do, then you can easily use a smaller alphabet and include several names.

If you’re familiar with Lizzie Kate patterns you probably already guessed that this is charted for Gentle Arts Sampler Threads, but if you’d like to save a few dollars on the stash purchase there is a DMC and Anchor conversion provided. There is also a flower button included in the design from Just Another Button Company.

Strawberry Shortcake Sampler is Chart of the Week

I admit that I don’t do a lot of what some consider traditional style cross stitching, but band samplers and samplers in general are among the things that fascinate me. I have stitched a few samplers, I’ve even been working on designing few for release here early next year.

This is Strawberry Shortcake Sampler by Casey Buonaugurio Designs, which is a new-to-me designer who I came across today with some very cute designs! Irish Creme Sampler also caught my eye this afternoon, I’m thinking I might need that one for my kitchen too.

Happy Stitching!

Christmas Cupcake Ornaments is Chart of the Week

Are you ready for Christmas in July? Actually, this is not a chart, but a kit full of adorable cupcake ornaments to stitch.

Christmas Cupcake Ornaments
is full counted cross stitch kit from Janlynn to complete 6 ornaments on 14 count and includes everything you need to for the project. Each ornament is approximately 3×3 inches when finished.

Now, I know this is a kit and it has everything you need, but when I saw these I also thought they might be adorable on bread wrapping linens or basket liners for delivering baked goods during the holidays as well. Or even stitched onto some napkins or placemats using wastecanvas instead of the kit materials. Just a little thought if you wanted to do something other than an ornament.

Sleepy Hollow is Chart of the Week

… and it’s on sale! bonus )

I know I’m ready for some Halloween stitching and when I mentioned it the other day it seemed like a lot of you were too! This is one of my “goal” pieces for this year, Sleepy Hollow by Glendon Place. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stitch the entire thing, but I at least want to make it that far through my to-start pile and get a little bit of it stitched, with the hopes of finishing it next year in time for Halloween.

In a grave lies the horsemen,
his head is at his side.
Be brave enough to take it,
and again by night he will ride.

A few of the things you’re going to need to stitch this design:
~36 skeins of Anchor floss (it’s charted for Anchor, but you can convert to DMC if you prefer)
~3 spools of Kreinik #4 Braid – colors are 4001, 4004, and 105C
~Mill Hill Beads – MH03007 and MH03022
~Waterlilies Threads – Lemon-n-Lime
~The recommended fabric is a cut of 18×27 28ct Haunted Cashel from PictureThisPlus

Shiver Me Timbers is Chart of the Week

Shiver Me Timbers Cross Stitch DesignWe just took our boys to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, so I think I have pirate on the brain. But this little shivering guy popped out at me this weekend and I knew I had to share him with you.

This is Shiver Me Timbers by Sue Hillis Designs, a totally cute stitch and fairly quick at a stitch count of 99W X 125H. The model was stitched on Pewter Lugana fabric, but I think any grey or blue-ish fabric would work wonderfully for him (or any snowman design in general.)

Green Dragon Bookmark is Chart of the Week

Dracolair's Green Dragon Bookmark Cross Stitch PatternI nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw there was a new Dracolair pattern release. I’ve stitched Ouroborus and Red Dragon Bookmark is in my to-do pile along with two of the Days of Dragons patterns. My biggest wishlist item at the moment is Dracolair’s Gaelic Banner and all the supplies, and you know a couple extra hours a day to stitch it.

Green Dragon Bookmark was just released and makes a beautiful companion to Red Dragon Bookmark. Isn’t he handsome?!?

Model stitched on 28 count Stormy Gray (Marbled) Hand Dyed-Linen with DMC floss. Stitch count: 22w x 90h. Need supplies? Click here.

Green is my favorite color and I love Dracolair’s dragons, so I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that this fellow hopped into my shopping cart this morning along with the DMC to stitch him. I think I have the perfect fabric in my stash already. I needed a skein of 210 to finish the wedding sampler I’ve been working on, so I figured it was a good time to pick up some stash treats.

Now to stalk the mailman for a week…. [Read more...]

Brighter Tomorrows is Chart of the Week

brighter tomorrows breast cancer cross stitch patternI know it’s not October yet, but as far as I’m concerned every month should include Breast Cancer Awareness – and cancer awareness in general. That’s why I chose Brighter Tomorrows from Imaginating as cross stitch chart of the week today.

Hope – Strength – Faith Survivor

May each hour bring you hope,
May each day bring you strength,
May each week reveal brighter tomorrows.

And of course there’s the iconic pink ribbon in one corner and a butterfly in the other corner (to symbolize hope I believe?)
