Pattern Pick of the Day: Dorothy Gale (Wonderful Wizard of OZ) by Brooke’s Books

Dorothy Gale (Wonderful Wizard of OZ) by Brooke's Books Dorothy Gale (Wonderful Wizard of OZ) by Brooke’s Books available on Craftsy.com

This design is part of a series of Wonderful Wizard of OZ characters. If you decide to stitch multiple characters on one piece of fabric you can use the Yellow Brick Road design across the bottom to link them all together (totally cute!) When you stitch them individually you can leave the bricks off if you want to, but I think they’re nice to include.

Stitch count is 52 x 79 stitches

Pattern Pick of the Day: Legacy of an Adopted Child by Artistic Needle

I find that there are not a lot of samplers and designs that focus on adoption, so this really grabbed my attention:

Legacy of an Adopted Child by Artistic NeedleLegacy of an Adopted Child by Artistic Needle available at 123stitch.com

“Once there were two women who never knew each other. One you do not remember. The other you call mother. Two different lives shaped to make yours one. One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live it. The first gave you the need for love, the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name. One gave you the seed of talent. The other gave you aim. One gave you emotion. The other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile, th other dried your tears. One gave you up, it was all that she could do. The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you. And now you ask me through your tears, the age old question through the years. Heredity or environment – which are you the product of? Neither my darling, neither – just two different kinds of love.”

Pattern Pick of the Day: Butterfly of Hope Quilt Blocks

Stamped cross stitch doesn’t often get my attention, but these stood out because of their special message <3

Janlynn Butterfly of Hope Quilt Blocks Stamped Cross Stitch, 15 by 15-Inch, 6 Per Package

This package contains six screen printed 18×18 inch broadcloth blocks, needle, graph and instructions.
Design size is 15×15 inches.

The page at Amazon for these blocks says “all supplies are included,” but to my knowledge this package does not contain floss. Of course, quilting fabrics and finishing materials are also separate.

If you want to complete a quilt here are the number of blocks Janlynn suggests you might need:

  • Lap: 2 rows of 3 blocks (one package)
  • Throw: 3 rows of 3 blocks (one and a half packages)
  • Twin: 5 rows of 6 blocks (5 packages)
  • Full/ Queen: 7 rows of 6 blocks (7 packages)
  • King: 9 rows of 6 blocks< (9 packages)/li>
