Nut Jobs Cross Stitch Sampler Chart of the Week

Nut Jobs Ink Circles Cross Stitch SamplerI enjoy a good sampler and I really like it when something is done in a sampler style and there’s no alphabet (I think I’ve mentioned that before, I don’t even know why it bothers me.) This sampler chart from Ink Circles brings a bit of snarky sass to your stitching, it’s called Nut Jobs.

Allergen Alert: This sampler was stitched on a planet that also products peanuts, tree nuts, and other nut jobs.

The model for the pieces was stitched on 40 Ct. Park City Blend linen with Gloriana Silks (or DMC 779, 3863, 3011,3041, 3013, 3726). The finished stitch count is 165 x 218. [Read more...]

Stash Buying Obsessions, Addictions, and More

I think no matter what your hobby is you end up with some kind of “stash” of supplies. Maybe crafters are just secretly hoarders in disguise. I’m sure you can relate here!

In every other aspect of my life I am ready and willing to *throw it out* and not have all sorts of extra stuff and clutter, I don’t like knick-knack type things, and will not find a ticking clock anywhere in my house. But when it comes to my cross stitch supplies, more is never enough.

Of course when compared to many other stitchers my stash is actually quite modest. I have a file box of charts and a small cabinet full of fabric and stitching goodies. I don’t keep a full set of DMC floss, I don’t have hundreds of magazines stashed away, but despite my slow stitching and lack of time lately I do quite a bit of stash shopping frequently. (Shh, don’t tell my husband I admitted that. I don’t complain his weekly comic book purchase if he doesn’t complain about my cross stitch chart buying, that’s the deal!) [Read more...]

Christine’s Finished Snowflake Cross Stitch

Christine's Finished Snowflake Cross Stitch

Snowflake Stitched by Christine

The 2012 Ornament Club is going well so far and I’ve really been enjoying seeing the finished ornaments when they reach my inbox.

Christine finished stitching her snowflake this weekend and posted the picture to our Facebook community. One of my favorite things is seeing everyone’s color variations and Christine stitched her snowflake in red. I love it!

Happy Stitching!

Lavender Roses HAED QS is Chart of the Week

LavenderRosesQS-cross-stitch-pattern-HAEDThis one is called Lavender Roses and is based on the artwork by Carrie Hawks and charted by Heaven and Earth Designs (aka, HAED in the stitching community)

This is a “quick stitch” design from HAED, which are a little less intimidating than full sized HAED charts. This chart measures in at 175W x 122H, which measures out to 5×7 inches if you’re stitching over one on 25 count fabric [Read more...]
