So I’m a horrible friend in general. I forget things, a lot, frequently, and all the time. If you look closely you’ll see the date on the piece is April of 2010. My husband became very ill that month and we missed the wedding. With so many things going on, I set the piece aside and figured I’d finish the beading and give it to them later.
And then, well, life happened I guess. A year later I finished the beading, but I wasn’t sure how soon I’d be able to have it framed. My intention was to give it to them as an anniversary gift, so I put it in my finished project box for safe keeping until I was ready to have it framed. I even blogged the finish here.
(The design is Lace Heart from a Jeanette Crews Leaflet of wedding sampler designs, all the details about fabric and supplies are in my other blog post)

This pattern set includes 4 quilt-inspired patterns that are suitable for stitchers of all levels. Each ornament is approximately 3.5 to 4 inches in size.
There are quilt and heart elements in each of the patterns, so they can be used as a set or individually. You can of course change the colors to match your own holiday decor. Please remember that the floss legends are only color suggestions. I strongly encourage you to choose your own colors for each ornament.
I’ve been in the mood for some Quaker-Style samplers lately – and I’ll show off some new stash later this week – but this caught my eye with Valentine’s Day right around the corner. This is Love Quaker Style by AuryTM Designs.
I love the little splashes of color and the hearts worked into the quaker blocks, very fun 🙂
Each member was given a choice of what color or color combinations they wanted to stitch and they sent in matching fabric if they chose. WOCS quilter, Bonnie Coleman, put this lovely quilt together using her amazing quilting talents. This quilt, along with several other quilts, pillows, tote bags and many other items were donated today to the Century Care Center, in Century, FL as gifts to the seniors who reside there. There is no floss legend for this pattern, because the idea is to use up all those leftover bits of floss you have or to choose your favorite color combination for your very own unique piece. Pattern size is 110w x 50h and only uses two floss colors, all solid cross stitches, no backstitching, and can be stitched on any fabric you like. [Read more…]
I’m so not a girly foo-foo pink frilly kind of girl.
Not to say I don’t like girly things, I like hearts and flowers as much as the next gal, but not boring blah pink same old crap flowers.
I want big blooming magnolias, black roses, or flowing lilies, or simple daisies and purple tulips. [Read more…]
