I’m pretty sure the correct answer is no, a design could not possibly be any more awesome. I just fell in love with this sampler this morning. And yes, I bought it even though I just bought a new sampler to work on at the beginning of January and I didn’t even start that one yet.
The model for Fjord Ponies by Ink Circles is stitched on 32 count Vintage Sugar Maple by Lakeside Linens using Vikki Clayton HDF color floss
(Zaffre Cobalt, Yonder Sky, Velvet Midnight 2161, Med. Dark Yonder Blue 2217, Med. Yonder Blue 2215, Light Yonder 2211, Darkest Yonder 2221). DMC Conversions available. Stitch count is 296W x 296H
I didn’t order any fabric or threads yet because I want to check out the DMC conversions and see if I want to splurge my stash budget on the expensive flosses or just go with the DMC variation, I also want to poke around my stash cabinet and see what pieces I have that might work well with the blues of this design.
I have a lot of blue fabric, but I think that might be too much blue. I think I have a light moss green in there somewhere that could work nicely with this design. Of course, if you’re stitching or have already stitched Fjord Ponies, I would love to see your progress or finished pieces to get a bit of inspiration. Just leave a comment below.
