It’s time for another giveaway. I told you I was doing a bit of spring cleaning and I would have some fun giveaway items coming up. Let’s kick things off with some interesting reading material: Patterns of Murder by Monica Ferris. This book is the first three books in the Needlecraft Mysteries series all combined into one book for easy reading.
The first thing to note about this giveaway is that this is actually the copy of the book that I purchased a few years ago, so it is gently used. The cover is a little bit worn from being carried around in my bag and sitting on my bookshelf, but overall it is in very good condition. I know receiving a gently loved book isn’t as exciting for everyone as it is for me (I love books that other people love!) so there might just be a few little surprises tucked away in the package as well. After all, I am cleaning out the stash cabinet over here.
So about the book(s)…. Patterns of Murder includes the first three books in the series; Crewel World, Framed in Lace, and A Stitch in Time.
Crewel World ~~ When Betsy arrives in Excelsior, Minnesota she winds up settling in and taking a new job at her sister Margot’s needlework shop.
It seems things are finally going her way – until Margot is murdered. In a town this friendly no one seems like they could have done something so horrible. But Betsy isn’t going to rest until she finds her sister’s killer…
But to find the murderer, she’ll have to put together a list of motives and suspects to figure out this killer’s pattern of crime… Includes a beautiful embroidery pattern!
Framed in Lace ~~ The historic Hopkins Ferry is raised from the bottom of a lake and everyone is stunned when a skeleton is found on board.
But the evidence is a bit soggy; the boat sank in 1949.
The victim was a woman and an identifiable lace-like fabric was found nearby. Still, with a little help from the needlecraft shop patrons, Betsy intends to sew up this mystery…
As always, includes a needlework pattern for your stitching pleasure.
A Stitch in Time ~~ Minnesota winters may be freezing, but Betsy’s heart is warmed when the best needleworkers in Excelsior volunteer to help restore a damaged tapestry that was discovered in a church basement. Betsy even donates the materials for the restoration project, hoping the publicity will boost her shop’s sales.
She soon realizes that her good intentions may have uncovered secrets that someone will kill to keep…
This third book in the Needlecraft Mystery series introduces a few new characters into the mix, including Betsy’s ex “Hal the Pig”, while also discussing the ups and downs of taking over her sister’s shop, learning how to run the business, build relationships and more.
