This is the second release in a series of Zodiac cross stitch patterns, making my way through these all summer in no particular order.
Leo (♌) is the fifth astrological sign of the zodiac, originating from the constellation of Leo. It spans the 120-150th degree of the Tropical zodiac, between 125.25 and 152.75 degree of celestial longitude. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this area on average between July 23 and August 22 each year.
Each block in the series is 45 x 45 stitches so they can be used together or individually and be interchangeable. On their own they’re the perfect size for an ornament, a card, or a scented sachet. You can group several symbols together for a family sampler or stitch all 12 for an annual sampler. So many stitchy possibilities.
You can customize and stitch however you’d like, each Zodiac symbol’s PDF file will include 5 individual chart; the four you see in the preview pane above plus one with just the backstitching outline. I intentionally removed the floss key from the patterns so that everyone’s piece will be unique. You can stitch it in one, two, or three colors, use variegated threads or metallics, etc. For those that are curious what colors I used in charting; DMC Very Dark Navy (939) and Burnt Orange Red (606).
Ruled by the fiery Sun, Leo the Lion cannot be ignored. There’s a sense of royalty surrounding this magnificent glamourpuss, whose warmth, charm and love of drama always puts them at the center of attention.
I’ll be releasing these Zodiac cross stitch patterns throughout the summer via Craftsy, and by the time my kids start school in the fall they’ll all be out there in the world for stitching. Thank you for your amazing support.
Enjoy the first pattern and happy stitching!
