Things have been stressful and painful lately. My wrist and joints have been horrible, which has meant no stitching has been happening.

I’m always reading something, but I really needed something fun and different. I was standing there looking at our bookshelf and realized I hadn’t read this one yet.

This is a quirky weird book. [Read more…]

DMC Thread Matches for Unavailable Colours in the UK/Europe

Currently DMC thread colours 3880-3895 are not available to buy from Authorized DMC UK/Europe retailers. They are only for sale outside the EU and not allowed to be imported and sold. Kate from Lakeside Needlecraft has gone through the 465 current threads and made an alternative pack which is matched as closely as possible to the unavailable thread colours.

Kate's thread matches

I hope this is useful for everyone. Kate mentions they’re not identical in color, but I think she got pretty darn close to exact matches here. Amazing eye for color matching.

If you’re interested in picking up the full pack of these 16 thread matches,
you can do that in one click at Lakeside Needlecraft.

Super special thanks to Kate for sharing this with everyone and for taking the time to find such excellent thread matches.

April Stitching and Stash Acquisition

A quick look at everything I worked on in April…. I actually didn’t Instagram or do progress pics on anything all month, so I just grabbed what was out and took photos just now while I was writing this. I was in such a rhythm at the beginning of the year – stitch, photo, blog – it’s so weird how hard it is to get back into a routine once it gets wonked up for a bit.

Stitching progress was made on:

March Stitching and Stash Acquisition

So after some really nice progress in January and February, March was kind of a dud. I did very little stitching and I didn’t even get the newsletter out here during the month. The only thing I stitched on was the Rainbow SAL and I didn’t even finish the March medallion, just the outline parts. So disappointed with myself 🙁
