I usually don’t do holiday cards, but I had a really great coupon code and a gift credit for Shutterfly, so 50 of these were really affordable, and I figured photo cards are less likely to end up in the trash bin.
This 10 things meme seems to make its way around the internet every few years, I always mean to post and I always forget. Not this time. Here I present you with 10 things you might not know about me….
1. I met my husband when I was teenager when our friends set us up on a blind date. He was ridiculously late picking me up that night, but I forgave him. We’ve been virtually inseparable ever since. (And that was way back in 1994, when cell phones weighed pounds instead of ounces!)
The Lion King is one of my boys’ all-time-favorite Disney movies. We had so much fun when we visited Animal Kingdom at Disney World back in 1996 and they were ready to pick up every Lion King souvenir and pin they could get their hands on that day. *sigh* we definitely need to go back and do that again someday.
Of course this Lion King design from MCG Textiles(which is actually a full kit with aida and floss provided) is the epic scene where they hold the new cub high for the kingdom to see and all the animals rejoice with pride and happiness. (and you can see Timon and Pumba there in the corner, too darn cute)
I’m not nearly as crafty as I wish I was. I went through a quilting phase and in all honesty I was pretty good. But I quickly found I loved picking out fabric and designs more than I had the time or patience to actually quilt. This frustrated my poor mother more than words can possibly convey. But that’s another story entirely.
I’ve tried my hand at cross stitching several times in my life and that too I’m not so great at. If I had to pick, I suppose the best thing I can do is crochet. I learned how to crochet when I was very young but I don’t really do it. Again, I love picking out all the pretty yarns and I’m excited to get started but somehow I manage to start several projects and finish none.
Wanted – Cross stitcher for custom work
I’ve received a few inquires for custom work and just wanted to throw it out there to the cross stitching community and ask if any of you do custom work?
What would you charge to stitch a 5×7 design?
Would it be based on stitches … Kind of a dumb question … Should just answer that myself. I would charge based on stitches.
If anyone does this type of work, please let me know so I can refer people your way!
I did a quick search and found a site that does custom work and charges based on “the actual stitch, not to be confused with the stitch count”. Makes sense.
Anyway .. Let me know if you’re interested!
Thanks and have a stitching day!
