I’ve attempted crochet myself, but I can barely to stitch a straight row in single stitch so this sort of creativity fascinates me –

I’m generally lacking in holiday spirit myself and my husband and my kids are the crazy holiday cheermiesters that start singing carols and picking out wrapping paper as soon as Thanksgiving is over. This year everyone seems to be a little down everywhere I look. I don’t know what’s contributing to that this year, whether it’s politics or the economy, I just want to go out on a mission to cheer everyone up.
Christmas decorations are out in stores already? Say what!?! But it’s not even Halloween yet. (*stomps foot and pouts*)
Every store I went to this week pushed Halloween items to the end of the aisle and started putting out Christmas decorations already, I even saw trees for sale starting today. Why so early? Heck, it’s not even October yet!

We just took our boys to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, so I think I have pirate on the brain. But this little shivering guy popped out at me this weekend and I knew I had to share him with you.
This is Shiver Me Timbers by Sue Hillis Designs, a totally cute stitch and fairly quick at a stitch count of 99W X 125H. The model was stitched on Pewter Lugana fabric, but I think any grey or blue-ish fabric would work wonderfully for him (or any snowman design in general.)
