Fun and Creative 2020 Cross Stitch Patterns for a Pandemic Year Full of Weird

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been an up and down, totally weird, and sometimes frustrating kind of year. A global pandemic has that effect on things, I suppose.

I’ve been really impressed with the way designers and stitchers are memorializing the year in stitches so creatively. This round up of 2020 themed stitches includes some fun pandemic themed cross stitch patterns, for remembering the year that just wouldn’t give us a break.

This has been so interesting finding all of these in one spot! I’ve been looking for a good pattern of Doctor Plague for months. As a result I bought two patterns. Thanks for all your work!

I’m not responding to your current display but I have discovered a hint for stitchers I want to share. I have been a cross stitcher for a good portion of my life and have realized there is a remedy for sore fingers when working with quarter stitches. Aida cloth by its very nature resists the rounded tip of a needle when trying to sew a quarter/three-quarter stitch on it. Fighting to get those done can really cause soreness to the fingers especially when one doesn’t use a thimble (that would include me). Recently, by dumb luck, while I was working on a project, I rescued a silk pin from the floor, and rather than stop what I was doing, I slipped it into the salvage of my project to be taken care of later. Fortunately, I had several quarter stitches to deal with and the thought occurred to me that the silk pin would help pierce the aida as long as I had it handy. Now if this hint has been floating around in the cross stitching world and I was never exposed to it, I have seen the light! But I cannot keep from sharing this with other non-thimble stitchers who are out there dealing with sore fingers. Thank you for giving me a chance to express this helpful hint.
