Knots and Blocks Quilt Inspired Ornament

This ornament was inspired by a combination of classic quilt designs and Celtic knot motifs. The way the blocks are laid out, you can finish it as a traditional ornament or as a biscornu if you prefer.

Pattern size is 51 x 51 stitches. The model was stitched on 28 count opalescent Lugana fabric, a ‘solo’ piece from Silkweaver Fabrics. While I do include the color key for the colors I used to stitch my ornament (DMC 553, 552, 414, 319, and 29) I do strongly encourage you to use any colors from your stash. Choose something to match your holiday decor, maybe choose your favorite color, you can even stitch it monochrome with any variegated thread.

Whatever colors you decide on, I look forward to seeing your finished ornament. I hope you’ll come by and share a photo with me in the Stitching the Night Away Facebook group, use hashtag #stitchingthenightaway and/or tag me @retta719 on Instagram, or even email me directly.

Enjoy and Happy Stitching!
Loretta

Happy to support by purchasing the pattern bundle and the quilt block inspired ornament, Loretta. Thank you for the freebie ornament design and the free quite to stitching on evenweave and linen fabrics! I do my best to match purchase to freebies offered by designers. I know how important and how much time goes into designing and offering patterns as I have created designs in the past. It’s a lot of work!
