March Stitching and Stash Acquisition

So after some really nice progress in January and February, March was kind of a dud. I did very little stitching and I didn’t even get the newsletter out here during the month. The only thing I stitched on was the Rainbow SAL and I didn’t even finish the March medallion, just the outline parts. So disappointed with myself 🙁

where my March stitching left off....
[blog post with progress on Rainbow SAL]

At the end of February / beginning of March I got a second round of the darn flu everyone had. Lucky me, double the flu! I was pretty much out of spoons for several weeks. If I could get up, work a bit, spend a little time with the kids and husband, and brush my teeth before falling into bed and feeling like death, it was a good day.

I’m finally feeling caught up and functional again, so I’m really looking forward to getting back into a daily stitching routine – and that starts today.

Since I’m still sort of in recovery mode though, I’ve also strapped on my Fitbit for motivation and tracking progress. Bring on corticosteroid long term has contributed to me weighing a lot more than I’d like to, so I’m watching my steps and logging food to keep things in perspective. This past August I was 40 pounds lighter than I am now, so my current goal is to get back to where I was and then evaluate with my doctor to decide if I need to maintain or go a little lower. If you’re also Fitbitting out there in the world, you’re welcome to join our Stitches & Steps group, we would love to see you there 🙂

While I didn’t acquire any stash in March, I did get something kind of cool that I wanted to show off. A shiny new coffee mug…

Death Wish Coffee 2017 St. Patricks Day Special Edition Mug by Deneen Pottery

This is hand thrown pottery by Deneen Pottery for Death Wish Coffee‘s special limited edition St. Patrick’s Day mug. It’s beautiful and sturdy and keeps my coffee warm and looking good on my desk.

That’s all for the March recap, sorry it wasn’t very stitchy! I’m off to fix that right now and get some stitching done and relax for the rest of the night.

What was up with March? I didn’t have the flu but I had serious allergy issues and I didn’t get my newsletter done and what stitching I did wasn’t very joyful but felt like obligation instead. Here’s to hoping April is better for both of us!!!

March was a bit weird. My April has been a bit wonky so far, but still better than March for sure.
