April Stitching and Stash Acquisition

A quick look at everything I worked on in April…. I actually didn’t Instagram or do progress pics on anything all month, so I just grabbed what was out and took photos just now while I was writing this. I was in such a rhythm at the beginning of the year – stitch, photo, blog – it’s so weird how hard it is to get back into a routine once it gets wonked up for a bit.

Stitching progress was made on:

  • Connie Gee Designs Rainbow Mystery SAL
  • Mill Hill Azul Calavera

All the orange beads were added on Azul Calavera and he’s looking pretty shiny

I don’t have a photo of me Connie Gee Designs Rainbow SAL piece because I had put it away while the windows were being put in and I was ready to switch projects and work on Linen & Threads sampler for a bit, but I did make some progress on it. Hopefully I’ll be caught up on that one by the end of April πŸ˜‰

Some non-stitching home improvement projects included a new garage door and new windows for the house.

The weather was a bit cruddy, so I didn’t get good before and after photos of the windows. The house had really old single pane wood frame windows, so getting these new triple-pane energy efficient windows has made an amazing difference in the comfort level inside the house already and I’m definitely looking forward to having lower utility bills from now on. Also, it’s nice to be able to actually open the windows! The old windows were stuck shut most of the time and didn’t really function.

Stash Acquired:

Stash acquired this month was of course a Mill Hill kit. The Autumn releases get me every time. I picked up the Sunflower from their 2017 Autumn Harvest collection. I love sunflowers and when I saw this release with the cute little bee charm, it went into my shopping cart immediately.

Designing and New Pattern Releases:

So far all of my patterns have been digital. I’m working on editing the documents for some print versions that will be available soon. It’s kind of an exciting change and I’m looking forward to sharing that. I just ordered a test print of the very first one, so I’ll share some photos with you when it arrives πŸ˜‰

Stitching & Steps Update

I mentioned struggling with getting enough movement in my day and trying to be mindful of that with the use of a Fitbit. I want to thank you all out there for the words of encouragement and shout outs to keep making progress. Here’s my 28 day chart from my Fitbit Dashboard:
april fitbit stats

My daily goal is set at 7,000 and you can see by the bright green bars that I only met the goal a few times in April. Ugh. Definitely need to get myself out of the house a little more and get moving in a more intentional way.
