Getting to Know the Stitching Community: Karen Ezell

Time to meet another new contributing author here at Stitching the Night. You might recognize Karen from a few other posts here about her designs and tutorials that she has done over at CampCrossStitch.com, she even sponsored one of our freebies not too long ago.

Let’s jump right into the stitchy goodness with Karen…

What’s your favorite type of cross stitch project to work on?

Not too large and not too small. I love to get to the outlining stage – it makes a design pop!

Do you have a favorite designer?

Not really. I just choose a cross stitch based on my likes .. garden, crafts, beach …

How big is your stitching stash?

Since starting my cross stitch business, I bought almost every DMC color organized by number. I wish I had more time to create!!

How long have you been stitching? How did you learn?

I remember getting a cross stitch kit with big squares and yarn, that must have been the start of my cross stitching. That would have been around 40 years ago. My biggest cross stitch design was ballet bears I stitched for my oldest daughter and is 28 now.

Do you have any “in real life friends” to share your stitching with in person, or maybe a local stitch-n-bitch with a local stitch group?

I wish! None of my friends cross stitch and I’m not sure if there is a local club or not. I had better go find out!

What project finish are you most proud of?

I just love this design as it has so much about me.

Cross Stitch, Sewing, Reading, Painting, A doll and I happen to have a doll collection!
