Getting to Know the Stitching Community: Patti Dagg

PattiDaggRockyMountainStitcher

Patti Dagg

Welcome back to another edition of the getting to know the stitching community. This week we’re talking with Patti Dagg from Rocky Mountain Stitcher.

Let’s get started…

What’s your favorite type of cross stitch project to work on?

Samplers!

Do you have a favorite designer?

Nora Corbett, Darlene O’Steen, and Brenda Gervais

Pattis Mary Wigham Cross Stitch Sampler

How big is your cross stitching stash?

Three 12” x 12” baskets full

How long have you been stitching?

46 years.

How did you learn?

My Grandmother. Being German she taught me to stitch( on gingham) /sew/knit & crochet at a young age.

Do you have any “in real life friends” to share your stitching with in person, or maybe a local stitch-n-bitch with a local stitch group?

Tell us about it so we can be jealous.

Yes. I’m a member of the Sampler Guild of the Rockies. We meet Monthly September through May.

Side note from Loretta: I love seeing local groups like this take shape! I really need to find something like that here.

What project finish are you most proud of?

Bonus question: Add anything you’d like to share here about stitching!

It is my favorite form of needlework. I love to crochet & knit but stitch the most. I hope it carries thru other generations.

I certainly agree. Special thanks to Patti for participating and sharing her stitching history with us. Happy stitching everyone!

    Hi Loretta,

I am co-owner of a Yahoo stitching group called World of Charity Stitching. Would you be willing to do a post about our group? We would love it if you could. I can send info and photos of some of the items we stitch and donate. We always welcome new members to our group. (In fact I just completed the Believe in Yourself piece you had talked about and have made it into a tote bag for a young girl at a domestic violence shelter.)
    Thanks,
    Peggy
