I love stitching knotwork – I hope you do too!
I used shades of lavender and green while I was designing the chart, but of course you can change those to any colors you’d like to stitch. Greens and golds are always lovely for Celtic knotwork patterns. Blues are beautiful. Reds are bold and exciting. If you’re up for stitching with variegated threads, those make wonderful knotwork as well.
If you stitch this design I would love to see your finished creation and add it to the gallery here. You can leave a comment here, send me an email, or share your photos in our Facebook Group!
A very special thank you goes to American Dream Products for sponsoring this cross stitch pattern to make it free for you to stitch!
What is knotwork? I haven’t heard of it before
I found your site with a search I was doing for free celtic cross stitch. How can I begin to thank you? I have a cross stitch program and am trying to convert some other images to celtic cross stitch patterns. Let me know if I can share with you. Thank you again,
Annie
Thank you Loretta, for sharing this lovely pattern.
Thank you for sharing. I love knot work charts. Being of Scotch-Irish descent, I seem to gravitate towards the Celtic look – go figure. :80)
i am in love with doing fair isle knitting and these celtic knot charts are superb to use for that purpose. i am going to knit this one to make a knot inspired afghan. Cant wait to be able to show it to you.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us all.

Loretta, thank you so very much! I’ve been looking for some knotwork that appeals to me 100% to stitch a bag and some cushions… And here it is! Thank you once more for the pattern!
Thanks for the Lovely design…Happy Easter..
Thank you, Loretta! I love Celtic design charts (I’m Scot-Irish) and the colors are done in my favorite garden hues: greens & purples. Ironically, I own a huge stash of ADP products and they are probably tired of me ordering so much! LOL. (I really wish they would re-introduce the floor model.) Cheers — Joan
I like the pattern but when printed out does not line up to match design
Thank you for this beautiful pattern, Loretta. It’s lovely and I look forward to stitching it. I
I don’t know what knot work is. But this pattern is beautiful. Thank you.
Thanks for your generosity in sharing free patterns regularly in recently taken early retirement and am on a tight budget so any freebies are very gratefully received. I can never wait to open your emails and start stitching.
