Again, this project is Pirate Treasure: Oak Island Mystery by Lynne Nicoletti. This will be my last update on this project for a little while since I’m going to be working on my entry for the Design an Egg Contest to be done by the end of this month.
I might toss this back into my WIP pile for awhile after that even and start something new. You know how those stitching mood swings can be 😉
Here’s today’s progress picture:
and here’s the previous progress pictures….(not a lot of progress happening right now!)
(I have a whole Flickr album set up for the progress from start to finish – check that out here<==) I’m stitching it on the perfect Silkweaver hand dyed fabric for it, it looks like a treasure map already before I even get the design on there! It’s beautiful fabric, I’m not sure if you can see the opalescent threads in the picture here or not, love the extra sparkle. One of the things about this pattern that I really enjoy is that the stitching is done with one strand of floss over two (instead of the usual two threads) so it creates sort of a painted look or a I guess you could say a worn out map look in this case. All right ~ I need to get back to stitching my egg design so I can show you progress pictures on that later this week! If you're stitching this weekend, don't forget to join us in the weekend stitch along over at the Facebook community page and let us know what you’re working on!
Happy Stitching!
