Love Quaker Style is Chart of the Week

Love-Quaker-Style-cross-stitch-patternI’ve been in the mood for some Quaker-Style samplers lately – and I’ll show off some new stash later this week – but this caught my eye with Valentine’s Day right around the corner. This is Love Quaker Style by AuryTM Designs.

I love the little splashes of color and the hearts worked into the quaker blocks, very fun 🙂

Lindsay’s Valentine Heart Cross Stitch

Stitched by Lindsay

This is my kind of valentine! Lindsay stitched her Valentine heart in all black. I love how it just pops off the fabric!

I’m so not a girly foo-foo pink frilly kind of girl.

Not to say I don’t like girly things, I like hearts and flowers as much as the next gal, but not boring blah pink same old crap flowers.

I want big blooming magnolias, black roses, or flowing lilies, or simple daisies and purple tulips. [Read more…]

I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm Cross Stitch Sampler Chart of the Week

Got My Love Cross Stitch SamplerI love it when I find an enjoyable sampler that doesn’t have an alphabet on it. This one is called I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm and comes from Heartstring Samplery.

The quote on the sampler reads:

“The snow is snowing, the wind is blowing, just watch those icicles form. I’ve got my love to keep me warm”.

Model was stitched on 35 count Straw linen by Weeks Dye Works using Weeks Dye Works flosses in Kohl and Brick. Stitch count is 123W x 233H.

Heart Band Sampler from Debbie Draper Designs

HeartBandSamplerCrossStitchDebbieDraperDesignsI love band samplers, adore them even. This is Heart Band Sampler by Debbie Draper Designs and it seems fitting for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday – but I think it’s also quite appropriate for any day and every day.

I couldn’t find the exact chart details online, but I think this would look lovely stitched in just about any hand dyed or over dyed thread in your stash. Silks, of course, would be lovely – as they are with any sampler.

Finished Cross Stitch Lace Heart Wedding Sampler

Whew, finally finished! I feel like the slowest stitcher on the planet these days. I used to be able to whip out a project like this in a week, but these days it takes me months. Less stitching time and carpel tunnel combined to make stitching a lot slower.

Finished Lace Heart Wedding Sampler Cross Stitch

Notice the date on the sampler – April 3rd of 2010. Yes, I’m over a year late in finishing this gift! I had intended to finish it for the one year anniversary, but my stitching time in March was short and few so it’s running quite behind, and I still need to get a frame! I’m thinking a silver frame or a grey frame, I haven’t looked at matting yet so I’m not sure what to use there.

Here’s the project from early stages to finish…. [Read more…]
