Always Some Madness in Love

My favorite Nietzsche quote. Quite possibly my favorite quote of anyone ever.

There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.
~ Friedrich Nietzsche

Framed and Gifted Lace Heart Wedding Sampler

So I’m a horrible friend in general. I forget things, a lot, frequently, and all the time. If you look closely you’ll see the date on the piece is April of 2010. My husband became very ill that month and we missed the wedding. With so many things going on, I set the piece aside and figured I’d finish the beading and give it to them later.

And then, well, life happened I guess. A year later I finished the beading, but I wasn’t sure how soon I’d be able to have it framed. My intention was to give it to them as an anniversary gift, so I put it in my finished project box for safe keeping until I was ready to have it framed. I even blogged the finish here.

Finished Lace Heart Wedding Sampler Cross Stitch
(The design is Lace Heart from a Jeanette Crews Leaflet of wedding sampler designs, all the details about fabric and supplies are in my other blog post)

I’m not sure what happened, but I must have been distracted by life between my husband being ill, buying the house, stuff with the kids, and then me being ill, the past few years of life are really just a blur of doctor’s rooms, trips to the hardware store, and a lot of confusion. [Read more…]

Knotted Hearts Quilt Stitched and Assembled by World of Charity Cross Stitch Group Members

I just received a photo of the finished quilt that the WOCS group did using the Knotted Hearts free cross stitch pattern here at Stitching the Night Away… it’s beautiful!

Knotted Hearts Quilt stitched by World of Charity Cross Stitch Group

Each member was given a choice of what color or color combinations they wanted to stitch and they sent in matching fabric if they chose. WOCS quilter, Bonnie Coleman, put this lovely quilt together using her amazing quilting talents. This quilt, along with several other quilts, pillows, tote bags and many other items were donated today to the Century Care Center, in Century, FL as gifts to the seniors who reside there. Pattern size is 110w x 50h and only uses two floss colors, all solid cross stitches, no backstitching, and can be stitched on any fabric you like. [Read more…]

Lindsay’s Valentine Heart Cross Stitch

LindsayValentineCrossStitch

Stitched by Lindsay

This is my kind of valentine! Lindsay stitched her Valentine heart in all black. I love how it just pops off the fabric!

I’m so not a girly foo-foo pink frilly kind of girl.

Not to say I don’t like girly things, I like hearts and flowers as much as the next gal, but not boring blah pink same old crap flowers.

I want big blooming magnolias, black roses, or flowing lilies, or simple daisies and purple tulips. [Read more…]
