This is my first finish of the year ~ YAY! A fluffy white snowflake ornament stitched on a 28 count Cashel Linen solo fabric from Silkweaver that my son picked out of the stash cabinet.
The fabric color makes me think of a winter sky at dusk when there’s lots of fluffy snow on the ground and a snowman in the yard. I do wish Ethan had picked one of the many opalescent fabrics I have in my stash, because I’m suddenly wishing there was some sparkle here. I may go back and add a bit of blending filament to the stitches at random places just for a little bit more personality to little Mr. Snowflake here.
This second picture the camera strap fell in front of the flash as I snapped the button, but I sort of like the dark effect so I thought I’d share this one too.
This particular snowflake is part of the 2012 Ornament Pattern Club here at Stitching the Night Away. It’s not too late to join us if you haven’t already 😉
Happy Stitching!
