Stitching My Token of Love by Rosewood Manor

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Loretta Oliver (@retta719)

Stitching progress photo for My Token of Love (Rosewood Manor) as of 10/9/2018

progress as of 10/9/2018

I’m stitching on 28 count evenweave from Silkweaver Expressions (this is an “old Silkweaver” and the color is no longer available but I think the closest match would be called Precious Metals) and I’m using DMC variegated thread (#115 garnet) instead of the usual sampler silks.

I still haven’t decided what to put in the circle that you can customize in the upper wreath section. I wanted to do something different than the usual anniversary date, but nothing is really springing to mind. I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas, please drop me a comment below.

starting stitching My Token of Love Sampler from Rosewood Manor

This first little bit took me about an hour and a half to get done. I always have this strange self-doubt in my ability to count when I’m placing the first handful of stitches into a new start. Also, I’m really liking having a needle minder, I’ve only been using one for the past month or so but they’re pretty handy to have.
(I picked my needle minder up at the Ship’s Manor Etsy shop ~ Erik makes some pretty awesome stuff)

Over the past year I’ve been eyeing several of Rosewood Manor’s patterns and they’re quickly becoming a favorite for me. If you’ve been following my window shopping adventures here on the blog you’ve probably seen them pop up a few times.

Have a fantastic day and happy stitching!
Loretta

Halfway Point on My Token of Love, and something extra to share

I may not get to stitch every morning, but I’m still making good progress.
My Token of Love Stitching Progress
(you can compare to my last update) I’m, halfway on this project now and I have to say there is something very satisfying about highlighting all the symbols on a single page of working copy, a nice little milestone in the accomplishment process.

I also wanted to share this cool art project that my son Noah did with my fellow owl-loving friends here…

Noah's Art Project Owl

Yes, that is indeed an owl drawn up of the word OWL over and over again at different strengths and sizes. I can barely draw a straight line most of the time, so I’m very glad my boys inherited their artistic abilities from their father.

Thanks for stopping by to check out the creativity happening in my corner of the world. I’d love to see what you’re working on too, leave a comment below and point me toward your latest project update πŸ˜‰

Happy Stitching!
Loretta

Stitching Progress This Week!

It feels like forever since I had real stitching progress to share here on the blog. I mentioned in the newsletter last week that I was recovering from feeling pretty darn crappy and as part of that I prescribed myself some stitching time daily. I have to say, stitching is good medicine.

I put a few hours in stitching My Token of Love by Rosewood Manor, a project that has been neglected for awhile. This was my morning project, I’d stitch for 30 minutes or so after everyone left for school each morning. A cup of hot coffee and whatever random cooking show was on TV…

Then my weekend project was starting Joker & Harley by weelittlestitches

I’m hoping that I can finish this one up this week ~ yay for quick projects!
