Loretta’s Annual Report of Stitching for 2013

I think I did more stash shopping than I did stitching this year… oops.

I had very little in the finished category this year…

I finished my January Snowflake
January Snowflake - Stitching the Night Away Ornament Club 2013

and I finished my Paisley Pumpkin

I made some progress on My Token of Love and on Pirate Treasure, I put a handful of stitches into a few other WIPs, I have a handful of half finished ornaments laying around, and I did a little sewing. That’s pretty much all I have successfully accomplished this year in my stitching. I am totally disappointed in myself at the moment.

I purchased and kitted up Gaelic Banner from Dracolair at the end of 2012 and bought fabric in January, that’s a piece I’ve been itching to stitch since the first time I saw it … as excited as I was to have that stash, life got distracting I didn’t even start working on it this year.

It was a rough year, I had a bout of depression, I had a lot of other work to do, and we moved. Still, I am completely bummed out that I didn’t have any other finishes. I definitely need to make more stitching time. I used to stitch every single day, no matter what. Time to get back into that routine, for my own sanity and well being.

I try to carve out about an hour during the day (more if I can manage it and the weather is nice to sit outside). But I always get my hour or two in at night while watching tv (keeps my hands out of the potato chip bag)! With that said, I have four personal projects calling my name (some for 3-4 years). I know exactly how you feel. Here’s to a productive 2014!

I used to stitch for an hour or two every day, but the past few years I’ve been lucky to stitch an hour or two every week. I really do need to get more stitching time in, for the sake of my sanity 😉
