Who Says Cross Stitch Patterns are Just for Cross Stitching?

little snowman crochet pillow

Little Snowman Crochet Pillow made by Kelly E.

This picture landed in my inbox today from Kelly E. She took the pattern for Little Snowman and used it to crochet this adorable pillow!

I’ve attempted crochet myself, but I can barely to stitch a straight row in single stitch so this sort of creativity fascinates me –
I love it! <3

Kelly, thank you so much for sharing your fun and beautiful work with us.

January Snowflake Stitched by Tammy

stitched by Tammy

Another snowflake stitched on sparkly fabric, this one was stitched in a variegated purple floss by Tammy on some leftover opalescent aida she had. Ornaments are great for using up those leftover pieces of fun fabrics that you have in your stash 😉

Great fabric and floss choice, Tammy! Thank you for sharing your stitching photos with us, always appreciated and I love seeing how everyone’s ornaments come out different even though we’re all using the same pattern.

If you’re looking for the snowflake pattern to stitch your own big sparkling snowflake you’ll find the pattern here.

Blue Snowflake Stitched on Red by Angela

stitched by Angela

When I posted Angela’s snowflake last week she had mentioned that she planned on stitching a second version on red fabric… well, she whipped it pretty fast – and she’s even finished it into an ornament ready to hang already! She’s way ahead of me on stitching projects for the new year, that’s for certain.

In case you missed her pretty red and green snowflake, you can find that here. <== And if you're looking for the January Snowflake pattern you can pick that up here. <== Happy Stitches Everyone <3

January Snowflake Stitched by Angela

I’m sure I sound repetitive, but I really love the beautiful and creative color choices that everyone is using for their snowflakes 🙂

Angela stitched her fluffy flake on 14 count cream aida using DMC 3818 and 816. She plans on finishing this one into the top of a little box and she already has a second snowflake planned on 18 count red aida using DMC 806 – I really look forward to seeing how that comes out, I think the snowflake is really going to pop on the red fabric.

January Snowflake Cross Stitched by Rachel

stitched by Rachel

This playful purple snowflake was stitched up by Rachel in four different shades of purple for an ombre effect ~ love it.

I had originally pulled a purple silk for my own snowflake but I switched it out for a blue instead. Now I’m thinking I want to stitch a purple one also. One can never have enough snowflakes for the Christmas tree, right?

January Snowflake as Stitched by Jen

enaissance-January-Ornament-StitchedI had mentioned previously that one of my favorite things in ornament club is to send out a pattern with no floss key or legend and see what sorts of creativity come back in the finished pieces. It’s fascinating how a few little changes can make a design look completely different.

This is Jen’s snowflake stitched using Renaissance hand-dyed lamb’s wool on 18 count Aida. (Though in her blog post she says she’ll never use lamb’s wool to cross stitch with again)

January Snowflake Finished by Tommye

stitched by Tommye J Bunce

We just started with our first pattern of the year on the 7th and Tommye finished last night! Stitched using Treasure Braid from Rainbow Gallery (PB10) on Phantom hand-dyed 36 count linen from Picture This Plus.

I was so surprised to see the photo posted to our Facebook group when I got home from Dylan’s basketball game last night. That was some lightning fast stitching and the results are stunning.
